Boule Diagnostics AB is an international group of companies with subsidiaries in Sweden, the US and China. The core business is based on advanced systems for blood diagnosis and includes instruments and related consumables that are marketed in over 100 countries. Boule develops systems of high quality and performance that are built to last. Decades of experience in system design has enabled the development of a novel system solution, a Point-of-Care (POC) device, which will complement the core business and should put Boule at the forefront of decentralized, near patient, hematology diagnosis.

The business was founded in 1992 with the acquisition of Karo Bio Diagnostics AB. But the company’s history goes back to the 1950′s when the founder of Swelab Instrument AB, Erik ?hlin, developed Europe’s first automatic blood cell counter. This is an early predecessor of today’s instruments from Boule. The founders of Boule’s American subsidiary, Clinical Diagnostic Solutions, Inc (CDS) has a similar history from Coulter Corporation which developed the world’s first blood cell counter.

The company operates in the field of hematology which is a medical specialty focusing on studies of blood, blood diseases and other diseases which can be diagnosed via blood analysis. If a doctor suspects that the patient may have a blood related disease, the blood can be analysed using an automated system for blood diagnostics. This type of analysis is done in human and in veterinary diagnostics.
